Up to half of the heat loss from a house occurs through the walls. This can be reduced by two thirds by insulating the walls.
Cavity insulation allows the internal wall to act as a thermal store, absorbing heat during the day and releasing it at night.
Small holes are drilled in the cavity of the external walls to a defined pattern which insures a complete fill. These holes are injected with a waterproof insulated bead material and adhesive which binds the beads together. The holes are then filled with mortar to match the existing finish as close as possible. A 25 year guarantee is provided with all cavity wall insulation.
A typical semi-detached house would cost in the region of €550-€950 with annual fuel savings of €200 to €320, the payback period would be in the region of 3 to 5 years.
