Energy Grant Scheme

Scheme for homeowners and landlords, making homes more comfortable, healthier and more cost effective to run.

This service is provided at no cost to householders who qualify.

This scheme is available to homes which meet the following criteria:

  • Owner occupied non-Local Authority homes

  • Constructed before 2006

  • The owner is in receipt of one of the following:

    • Fuel Allowance as part of the National Fuel Scheme

    • Job Seekers Allowance for over six months and with children under 7 years of age

    • Family Income Supplement

    • In receipt of the “One Parent Family Payment”

Landlords can avail of grants from the scheme if they have tenants in, or at risk of, energy poverty.

The service involves the installation of standard energy efficiency measures appropriate to the eligible household subject to survey, budget allocation and available capacity. The service is provided at no cost to the household and the measures currently available under this scheme are:

  • Attic insulation.

  • Draught proofing.

  • Lagging jackets.

  • Low energy light bulbs.

  • Cavity wall insulation.

  • Energy advice.

Home Energy Scheme

The Government is offering a programme which gives fixed cash grants for insulation and heating system upgrades, helping to make your home more comfortable and cheaper to run.

It is available to all owners of homesbuilt before 2006.

This also offers higher grants and cash bonuses if you carry out 3 or 4 measures. The grants are also open to previous applicants who wish to get additional works done.

Over 335,000 homeowners have already receivevd grants. By upgrading your home, you’re making it warmer and more cosy and you’re cutting your heating bill by up to

50%. You’re also doing your bit to prevent climate change.
